
FOHNEU is a non-profit making organisation for scientific purposes and represents the 45 000 + occupational health nurses (OHNs) working in the Member States.
FOHNEU´s aims are:
To ensure that OHNs are competent and fully equipped to the health, safety and well-being of the European Union´s working population.
To encourage OHNs to carry out research in areas of Practice, Education and Management and to publish the results.
To establish links and networking opportunities between occupational health and safety practitioners in the different countries so that they can support each other. To share ideas and best practices in order to provide cost-effectcive, quality health care for all EU businesses.
To maintain open dialogue and support the EU organisations responsible for health and safety as well as nursing authorities.
Ensure that the OHN´s role in workplace health and safety is recognised by Governments, employers and workers´ representatives.
Membership of FOHNEU
A Member State´s national Occupational Health Nursing Association may apply for membership. An Association is entitled to appoint two representatives to be FOHNEU Board members. There are usually two Board meetings each year.
